Forward Helix Piercing
A forward helix piercing is a piercing that goes through the outer ridge of the ear, right above the tragus. Whereas a regular helix piercing is done on the inner ridge of the cartilage of the ear, the forward helix is done on the forward-facing outer part.
Depending on the amount of room the wearer has, forward helix piercings can be done as a single, double, or sometimes even a triple.
Like all piercings, a forward helix is anatomy-dependant, and it also depends on piercings that are already existing as some (like a rook or a daith) may interfere with a safe piercing placement. Forward helixes are started off with studs for optimal healing, but after they are fully healed they can be changed to hoops if the wearer likes.
Forward helix piercings are best suited for flat jewelry to help reduce potential snagging during the healing process.

Although healing times vary for all individuals, these are average time frames that most clients fall into. If you are still noticing swelling around your piercing after 8 weeks, we recommend coming in for a piercing consultation so our piercer can take a look at the piercing and assess the situation.
Some piercings require multiple downsizes in order to heal correctly and fit comfortably.
If you prefer the look of a thicker piercing, or have had trouble healing piercings in the past and want a more stable piercing, our piercers may be able to pierce you with a larger gauge than listed above, however; for safety and healing we will not pierce with anything smaller.
