Prince Albert Piercing

When people think of penis piercings, Prince Albert piercings are usually top of mind. Prince Albert piercings are the most common penis piercing we offer at our studio. Although the piercing appears to go through a large amount of tissue, we utilize the pre-existing channel of the urethra and only pierce through a small amount of tissue on the underside of the penis.

Prince Albert piercings are named after Queen Victoria's husband, who reportedly had this piercing in order to attach his penis to his trousers to create a flat front, the highest style of the times. Nowadays, PA piercings are used for both aesthetics and function, potentially increasing sexual pleasure for both the person with the piercing and their partner.

PA piercings are anatomy-specific, however; most people with penises have appropriate anatomy for this piercing. We always book a consultation prior to a genital piercing to ensure you have suitable anatomy and that the piercing has the best chance of healing correctly.

Prince Albert piercings are one of few piercings that we start off with rings. Captive bead rings or circular barbells are both appropriate, and once you are fully healed the piercing can be stretched or we can order larger beads for your existing jewelry.

Although healing times vary for all individuals, these are average time frames that most clients fall into. If you are still noticing swelling around your piercing after 8 weeks, we recommend coming in for a piercing consultation so our piercer can take a look at the piercing and assess the situation.

Some piercings require multiple downsizes in order to heal correctly and fit comfortably.

If you prefer the look of a thicker piercing, or have had trouble healing piercings in the past and want a more stable piercing, our piercers may be able to pierce you with a larger gauge than listed above, however; for safety and healing we will not pierce with anything smaller.
