Pubic Piercing
Pubic piercings are a type of piercing that is done near the genitalia, but does not actually go through the genitals. For those with vulvas, these can be done right at the cleft of the vulva (commonly called a Christina piercing) or can be nearly any placement on the mons pubis. For those with penises, this piercing is done right at the base of the penis where the shaft meets the pubic mound.
When pierced higher on the pubic mound, the piercing is essentially a surface piercing and the risk of rejection increases. A properly placed pubic piercing on a penis sits in the natural groove at the base of the penis.
Pubic piercings on those with penises can be a functional piercing for their partner, as it tends to hit the clitoris during penis-in-vagina penetrative sex.

If you are still noticing swelling around your piercing after 8 weeks, we recommend coming in for a piercing consultation so our piercer can take a look at the piercing and assess the situation.
If you prefer the look of a thicker piercing, or have had trouble healing piercings in the past and want a more stable piercing, our piercers may be able to pierce you with a larger gauge than listed above, however; for safety and healing we will not pierce with anything smaller.
