Before Your Tattoo Appointment

 

Getting a new tattoo is an exciting adventure. Here are our best tips on how to come to your appointment prepared

  • Bring your Government-issued ID
  • Eat a full meal within 4 hours of your appointment start time 
  • Get a good night's sleep the night before your appointment
  • Refrain from drinking alcohol at least 24 hours before your appointment
  •  Hydrate as much as possible in the 12 hours before your appointment
  • Avoid excessive caffeine intake
  • Avoid painkillers before you appointment such as Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) and naproxen (Aleve, Naprosyn) as they can thin your blood and may cause excessive bleeding
  • Have a shower
  • If there is a method of exfoliation you already use, do so in the area being tattooed (do not introduce any new products to avoid any unexpected irritation)
  • If you're being tattooed in an area that you're accustom to shaving, you may do so, but don't if you've never done so before to avoid accidental nicks and cuts
  • Make sure you have no skin damage in the area you plan to be tattooed, we cannot tattoo on a sunburn or rash
  • If you would like to use a numbing agent, please clear the product and application process with your artist before you apply it
  • If you are feeling unwell, call or email us as soon as possible to reschedule your appointment.
